Benjamin Lankton is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York, who focuses on landscape paintings that convey the beauty of the horizon. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Ben made an abrupt change in style. His 2020 scenescapes tell a much different story: one past the seeing eye, of escapism to different celestial bodies. These seldom-seen works made a profound impression on me, who in turn produced audio “Pops,” taken from Jack Kerouac’s term for American Haiku. This birthed the Visual Series, where I make Pops to accompany static visual works.
